PDEU INNOVATION & INCUBATION CENTRE (PDEU IIC)
The PDEU Innovation and Incubation Centre, an incubator established by Pandit Deendayal Energy University back in 2014. PDEU IIC has emerged as one of the leading forces in fostering innovation and nurturing entrepreneurship. It was unveiled by the Honorable Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, during the university's 8th Convocation on November 21, 2020. The centre has made significant strides, supporting more than 210 startups and securing over 110 intellectual property rights.
Focusing on vital domains such as energy, education, AI, manufacturing, healthcare and many more. IIC has outreach programs that have inspired more than 30,000 students, encouraging them to explore entrepreneurship.
Awards And Recognitions
Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDEU) has been ranked Top 50 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework(NIRF) Ranking 2024 under the category of Innovation.
PDEU IIC has achieved a significant milestone by securing a position within the 51-100 rank band in the Innovation category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2023. This recognition highlights PDEU IIC's commitment to fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and cutting-edge research.
Rated with 3.5 star in the Institution's Innovation Council ranking in 22-23 under the aegis of the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell, Government of India.
PDEU IIC has secured 5th rank across India in Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (2021) University or deemed to be University. (Private/Self Financed)
PDEU has been rated with 4 star Rating in the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) calendar year 2021-22 for undertaking various activities prescribed by the Ministry of Education Innovation Cell (MIC) to promote Innovation and Start-up in the Campus.

Dr. S. Sundar Manoharan
ChairmanDr. S. Sundar Manoharan is the Chairman of the PDEU Innovation and Incubation Centre (PDEU IIC) and the Director General of Pandit Deendayal Energy University. He earned his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore 1991. His leadership at PDEU IIC is fueled by his expertise and dedication in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship.
Mr. Abhinav Kapadia
CEO and DirectorMr. Abhinav Kapadia is the Director of PDEU Innovation and Incubation Centre (PDEU IIC). With over 20 years of experience in management and finance, he has led PDEU IIC to incubate over 200 ideas, with 70+ recognized as DPIIT startups, and raised more than INR 40 crores in seed funding.
Dr. Vishwesh Badheka
DirectorDr Vishwesh Badheka is the Director of PDEU Innovation and Incubation Centre (PDEU IIC) and a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at PDEU's School of Technology. Dr. Badheka is affiliated with several prestigious organizations, such as the Indian Institute of Welding and the American Welding Society, bringing extensive expertise to his leadership role at PDEU IIC.
