The session aimed to throw light on his journey as the founder of Torch-IT Electronics Pvt. Ltd., a start-up incubated at PDEU Innovation and Incubation Center. The session talked about the company’s current and future plan and emphasized on how young entrepreneurs should be tenacious in their efforts.
Webinar on 'The Creative Art of Story Telling'

The webinar inculcated a lot of examples of creative storytelling and how to ace communication skills to stand out from the crowd. Ms. Kruti addressed various concerns of participants and provided some valuable insights for the same. Furthermore, she shared some of her personal experiences allowing her to connect with the audience at a deeper level and keeping them engaged throughout the session. Additionally, Ms. Patel shed light upon some key features of creative advertisement. Lastly, the session ended with an insightful discussion with participants posing their queries.

Seminar on 'New Venture Development and Strategizing' by Mr. Sanjay Yashroy

PDEU IIC organized a seminar aimed at educating participants about the evaluation of opportunities, idea generation, validation and the contemporary approaches of entrepreneurship, and the lean methodology amongst the various things. The session explained more about the marketing strategies, skills that entrepreneurs should possess and what are the inert values that every entrepreneur should have in deep routes of their mind. The session also elaborated more on the real world examples.
Funding and Scaling Training Program

Funding & Scaling Training Program was a startup-up & investor connect initiative by PDEU Innovation and Incubation Centre (PDEU IIC), with FundEnable, for the Founder/Co-founders of startups incubated at IIC. The two-day workshop emphasized on the development and training in the areas of scaling up strategies for start-up, digital marketing, what it takes to raise VC money, crafting a pitch deck, and how to pitch.

PDEU IIC organized a facility tour for PDEU students from SPT, SOT, SPM and SLS schools. The aim of the visit was to instill the spirit of entrepreneurship amongst the students. They were exposed to expert facilities like– 3D Printing, Rapid-Prototyping lab, etc., that are offered at PDEU IIC. Through this they also got a chance to interact with startup founders incubated at PDEU IIC, and learn from the ups and downs of their journey.

It was an immense pleasure for PDEU IIC to host the Honourable Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology, GoI – Shri Rajeev Chandrasekhar and Shri Jitubhai Vaghani, the Honourable Education Minister, GoG, and Shi Kuberbhai Dindor Hon. Minister of State for Higher & Technical Education, Legislative & Parliamentary Affairs, GoG. The incubatees exhibited immense enthusiasm to showcase their innovative idea, vision and interacted with the honourable minister to gain valuable insights into the startup ecosystem.
21by72 Startup Summit, Surat

IVY Growth Associates, a Surat-based startup accelerator and investor company hosted a 3-day startup summit, ‘21By72’ .The Summit’s focus was to develop a dynamic startup ecosystem in Gujarat and bridge the gap between startups and investors. PDEU IIC keenly participated in the summit with 5 of its startups showcasing their innovation at exhibition and lending essential support as an ecosystem partner.
Fundraising Fundamental Training Session

PDEU IIC in association with FundEnable organized “Fundraising Fundamental Training Sessions”. The sessions were conducted by Mr. Vikrant Potnis, and acted as a guide to fast-track the creation of their funding strategies and help startups get on track for reaching out to the investors. It also helped startups identify the right investors for their venture and comprehend valuation.
Business Plan Competition, 2022

PDEU IIC organised the second edition of the B-Plan competition which asked participants to draft, develop, and demonstrate an idea or plan of an existing business in an innovative manner. The competition entailed a series of webinars and workshops to impart crucial knowledge of business plan and entrepreneurship. Moreover, one-on-one interaction with startups was organised for the participants to get a better understanding and resolve any doubts. Post webinars and startup interaction, teams were asked to present their business plans before a panel of 12 jury members in Pre-finale and Finale round. After due deliberation and assessment of teams on appropriate criterias, winners were announced.
SSIP Hackathon 2022

PDEU IIC has been an avid facilitator of SSIP (Student Startup and Innovation Policy) to promote entrepreneurship amongst youth. Under the campaign of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and the annual flagship program of SSIP, PDEU and PDEU IIC hosted the ‘Regional Round’ of Student Startup Research and Innovation Hackathon 2022.
GVFL DEMO Day

To facilitate the growth of our incubatee startups and enable them to upscale their operations, PDEU IIC hosted an ‘Investment team’ for an exclusive Demo day from Gujarat Venture Finance Ltd (GVFL) and proffered them a platform to pitch their startup and raise requisite funds from the investors. The one-on-one pitching session offered the startups an apt opportunity to present their innovative ideas and capitalise the occasion by convincing the investors to get onboards and raise funds.
Children Innovation Competition, 2022

PDEU Innovation and Incubation Centre (IIC) in collaboration with STEMbotix organized a statewide, “Children Innovation Competition 2022”, under the new Student Start-up and Innovation Policy to sensitize school students in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. This was done in a hybrid mode with workshops and tutorials being held online and the Children Innovation competition being held offline. During the competition students were asked to participate in any of the following 4 categories: Robo Race, Line follower, Let’s Blockzie and Creatives Idea (Open Innovation).

With an intent to provide exposure to the Indian Startup Ecosystem to the startups incubated at PDEU IIC, the event was organised in 2 phases. Phase 1 was held at PDEU IIC office in Gandhinagar where startups went through a 2-day Capacity building on Venture Funding training sessions. Phase 2 was scheduled in Bengaluru which included training as well as pitching round in front of the potential investors. The pitching was scheduled in Bangalore and consisted of a 2-day programme that entailed insightful seminars.
Workshop on 3D Printing

It is imperative for an innovator to conceptualize their idea, validate its feasibility and effectiveness by demonstrating a prototype. The prototype or samples play a crucial role for enticing fundings and assistance from prospective investors in initial stages of the startup. PDEU IIC has built a state-of-the-art workshop that is equipped with the latest 3D printing technology and held a workshop for the same. The workshop covered designing concepts, designing software, printing based hardware and practical applications.
Robotics Designing & Robot Operation System (ROS) Integration Training Program

PDEU IIC, in collaboration with iSTEM Collective Foundation, conducted a training program on Robotics Designing & Robot Operating System (ROS) Integration for the students of PDEU. The training program made the participants familiar with the fundamentals and basics of Robotics, and then explained the design structure of robots; hence ensuring that even participants with less or no familiarity with the subject can understand the contents of the session better. The training program also included real robot assembly & hardware configuration session, and real robot deployment session. The participants got the opportunity of getting hands-on experience of coding and making a robot under technical guidance of iSTEM Collective Foundation’s technical personnel.
Workshop on Drone Designing and Flying

PDEU IIC organized a five days workshop on “Drone designing and flying” in collaboration with iSTEM, collective foundation, at PDEU IIC Office, UG hostel. The aim of this workshop was to give participants an insight into innovative technology and hands-on experience about Drone technology and to make them familiar with its working. The participants were divided into different groups to accommodate everyone and offer them a chance to try their hands on drone tech. The flow of the workshop was designed in such a manner that every important aspect of Drone technology could be covered, and participants could get the best of the time they had invested.
Visit of Executive MBA Students to PDEU IIC

PDEU IIC organized a facility tour for PDEU School of Management (SOM) executive MBA students. The visit’s goal was to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among the pupils. The students were first shown around PDEU IIC, how the incubation process operates, and they had the opportunity to interact with the incubatees. Students were also taken to the rapid prototyping lab, where they were shown modern 3D printers as well as actual models that had been printed using them. The students were also shown around the computer lab, prototyping lab, workshop area, and the co-working space.

Students and faculties from the branch of Material Additive Manufacturing visited the PDEU IIC office in order to strengthen the relationship between these two industries. The purpose of the visit was to create awareness about PDEU IIC and its offerings among the students as well as faculties. The main goals of the tour was to orient and familiarise the students with the incubation centre’s operations and how IIC can act as a guiding hand for students as they build company concepts and learn about the start-up process.

The webinar on ‘Product to PnL’ aimed to help the participants understand a start-up’s journey from an idea to a successful business venture. Converting an idea into reality can be tricky but one can achieve it with strong determination and vigorous execution. Mr. Anay started the session by interacting with the participants and learning their thoughts and ideas of what a ‘product’, ‘PnL’ and ‘difference between a balance sheet and a PnL sheet’ meant to them.

With an aim to impart knowledge and foster innovation, PDEU IIC in association with PWC had organised an interactive and insightful session on ‘Tax Compliances for Startups’. The session was conducted by CA Harsh Shah and enlightened the incubatees upon the importance and compliance of tax laws, eligibility and criteria for tax exemptions, rules and regulations, risk and cost associated with non-compliance.

PDEU IIC hosted the students of Sheth C.N. School and their esteemed faculty at their facility. The students ranged from grade 8th to 12th. For smooth conduct of their visit, the students were divided into two batches. The endeavor of the visit to PDEU IIC office, was to enlighten the students regarding the incubation centers role played by it in nurturing a start-up and various facilities provided for the same. Such a fruitful opportunity, allowed students to gain exposure, at a very young age. In addition to this, it also inspired them to work upon their innovative ideas and effectively convert them into successful business enterprises.
