MIT Pune Students visit
To gain knowledge and hands-on experience of the startup culture and ecosystem, 8 selected students of BSc. Economics Honors from MIT Pune visited PDEU IIC under EDII training programme on Innovation & Entrepreneurship for the Higher Secondary Students, as a visit to the institutions / organizations which are contributing significantly in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The day kicked off with eager students arriving at the facility of PDEU IIC. Inside the Incubation Centre, they had an opportunity to witness vibrant innovation, entrepreneurial efforts, cutting-edge technology and glance at the startup ecosystem. The centre's collaborative efforts provided an ideal setting for students to delve into pioneering projects and startup endeavors.
The visit commenced with a presentation elucidating the core mission and vision of the incubation centre. Students gained insights Students gained insights into startup culture and entrepreneurship, learned about the centre's pivotal role in nurturing young talent, fostering entrepreneurship, driving innovation across diverse fields and bridging the gap between industry and academia.
Thereafter, the students were taken on a facility tour of the incubation centre. guided by the employees of PDEU IIC. The students were shown a rapid prototyping lab, workshop, co-working space, intern’s area, PDEU IIC’s Wall of Achievements, IPR and computer lab. Highlights of this visit were the various industrial specific machinery and ‘3D model’ printers that are made available to start-ups for developing a prototype. In order to provide real life insight, they were shown prototypes of the startups incubated at IIC: EV- bikes of ‘Rhyno Wheels’ and innovative solar panels by ‘Imagine Powertree’.
